At this time we do not distribute sample products or rebate coupons directly from head office. The Allan Candy Canes are made in production facilities in the US and Mexico. You will notice that our entire portfolio of candy canes are made in a peanut, tree nut and gluten free facility, which is a vital reassurance for parents and schools. The flavour profiles and quality are unique to Allan which ensures we continue to be Canada’s favourite candy cane. We take great pride in producing high quality products and hope you will continue to select and enjoy our variety of products.
The vegetable oil used in Allan Candy Canes is from cottonseed or soybean oil. The soybean oil in our candy canes is highly refined, it is bleached and deodorized therefore the protein is removed from the oil and it is not considered an allergen. It is at the consumer’s discretion to decide if they can consume the canes based on individual allergy severity and sensitivity. Please contact your physician if you are not sure.
The Misty Mints are a seasonal product produced for the Christmas Holiday season. They are typically found in mass merchandising retailers.
Bortz is a brand within The Allan Candy Company Limited portfolio of products and is exclusively found at Loblaws and the banners of the Loblaws company. This product is manufactured in the U.S. under the Bortz brand name and is imported into Canada.
If an allergen is present, we do declare all allergens in our ingredient lists. We also put a “may contain” allergen warning on our labels. You will find detailed information under each specific products Nutritional Information in the product section of our website.
Our gelatin comes from either non-halal/non-kosher beef or pork.
As of August 1st 2010 the Allan Candy Company was certified as a Peanut Free facility. Although we do not use any tree nuts or their derivatives as ingredients, our facility it is not certified as ‘Tree Nut Free’.
Our Candy canes and DUM DUM Pops are gluten free.
We only use wheat base ingredients as source of gluten in our products.
It means that wheat flour is handled and present during production and it is impossible for us to eliminate the possibility of trace amounts in our production environment.
No, it only means that there is no risk of cross contamination with wheat base ingredients during production.
Monoglycerides used in ALLAN Candy products are derived from vegetable sources.
The only animal ingredient derivatives we have in our facility are dairy ingredients and gelatine.
Our manufacturing plant is located in Granby, Quebec, Canada. We do not allow public tours due to strict policies on health and safety to ensure the highest quality of our products.
